Integrated Learning

WALT describe ideas about school design.
The school idea I am presenting is built in iPads on the desks. I am presenting this by making a diorama.
 I think the school should use this idea because it will be much easier not having to walk to the other side of the room for an iPad when there's one stuck into your desk!

Swimming

Room 6 and I started swimming lessons at Starfish Swim school like the other year 5\6 classes for two weeks.

I learnt the dolphin dive stroke, and the most challenging thing that I found was when we did races. I am most proud of my swimming in general. =) 

CARE Values

I know how to show my CARE values in the classroom. I think we have the CARE values at Oaklands School because they help us be better people and they train us to be kind.
I think the most important CARE value is use your time wisely.

Reading-Our Class Novel

As a class we read the novel Best Mate by Michael Morpurgo.
The best thing about this book was that Best Mate got to see Patrick again.
A question I have for the author is why did you want to become an author and write books?
I am feeling exhilarated about starting the BFG.

My writing goal

My writing goal is to remember to not scribble in my book or do lots of cross outs.
Something I will do to achieve this is to think about my ideas before I write anything.

Visual Art

Last week I created a collage showing a NZ cave habitat.  The three animals I chose were a bat, a spider and a weta.
The feature of my art I am most proud of is the spider web.  It is made of pipe cleaners and was very hard to stick down in the right place.

Is a hunting dogs' teeth sharper than a sharks and if so, why?
